We have been hearing reports since the death of a teacher at John Tyler that there have been problems at the high school for sometime.  The rumors are that the school reduced its security staff at the start of this year and there have been a growing number of fights since.

However, it appears that none of these fights have been reported in the news.  It seems that there has been a news blackout about these matters.  Does anyone honestly believe that no parent of a student at John Tyler was talking about this growing problem?  Are we being asked to believe that the Tyler Paper did not know about these matters?  Did they know and help cover it up?  These are all questions that must be answered in the near future.  We cannot allow this to happen again.  We have to find out the reasons for this increased violence.  We have to identify the racial issues that seem to be bubbling up there and address them. 

We cannot let the death of this teacher be in vain.  We need to find answers to these questions and we need to find out how in 2009, important news events can be taking place at one of the two high school in Tyler, Texas and go unreported.
